@bowker_john There are 5 major int'l cargo and passenger port authorities, alongside roughly two dozen smaller regional and public port districts plus WA & BC Ferries traffic. Adding 1 to 2 extra oil tankers per day sailing through the Salish Sea isn't going to instantly wipe out the orcas.

@twitkent Off season has always been my favorite time to travel. Even when the weather might be more iffy, I prefer it for the reasons you state. Example, I took a boat trip on Puget Sound in early spring & sat on the deck wrapped in a blanket the entire way. Everybody else was inside. LOL

@susaninseattle1 100% true. My parents always drove us up to Anacortes each Memorial Day weekend to ride a ferry thru the San Juans. Usually to Friday Harbor. So wonderful. One of my favorite Christmas ornaments I have is a little wooden Washington State Ferry.
