Construction will occur at Fossil Bay starting Oct. 13 and expected to end in mid-November. Work includes building a brand-new pumpout station for the bay.

Crown jewel of the San Juan Islands marine parks. Multiple bays (Fossil Bay, Echo Bay, Shallow Bay, Ewing Cove, Snoring Bay) with mooring buoys, hiking trails, sandstone formations, and pristine beaches. No vehicle access — boat-in only.

Rules & Regulations

Rules: No fires on beach. Pack out all trash. No drones. Quiet hours 10pm-7am.

Pets allowed on leash. Not allowed on designated swimming beaches.

Fires in designated fire rings only. Subject to seasonal burn bans.

All buoys and dock space are first-come, first-served. Summer weekends fill by Friday afternoon.

Trails & Hiking

6+ miles of hiking trails connecting all bays. Fossil Bay to Ev Henry Point loop (2.5mi, easy). Shallow Bay to China Caves (1mi, moderate).
